Creanda

Macchia Valfortore · Molise, Italy

Local roots. Global opportunities.

Creanda is a rural innovation hub in southern Italy where tradition meets innovation — a place to meet, create and grow. Local talent, international entrepreneurs and forward-thinking companies work, learn and build new opportunities together.

Creanda

What if opportunity could move to the countryside?

Today, young people leave rural villages to find their future. Creanda is a pilot project that turns the flow around: we bring global work, education, AI skills and international networks to Macchia Valfortore — so that people can live locally and work globally. Less talk, more action: we build real ventures, real income and real reasons for young people to stay.

The problem

Ambition is not the problem. Infrastructure is.

In many villages in southern Italy, young people do not lack talent or drive. They lack a local infrastructure that connects their ambitions to the global labour market. The result is emigration, an ageing population, empty houses and fading local services.

  • Young people move away to find work and education
  • Properties stand empty and local services shrink
  • Skills, families and future businesses disappear with them

The solution

One place, two engines

The model connects two parts that fund and feed each other.

Free opportunities for local youth

People aged 18–30 get free or heavily subsidised access to coworking, English training, AI and digital tools, entrepreneurship programs, mentors and international networks.

Paid international experiences

Companies, entrepreneurs and remote workers book workations, retreats, teambuilding and learning experiences. Their stays fund the local programs and create customers for local businesses.

I live in Macchia

Learn English, AI and entrepreneurship. Meet people from all over Europe. You do not need a finished idea — just curiosity.

I want to visit with my team or as a remote worker

Work, learn and reconnect in rural southern Italy — and contribute to a real local community while you are here.

The first home

Casa del Juniper

A stone house in Macchia Valfortore is the project's first home: meeting place, work environment, accommodation and the test bed for the pilot. This is where the vision becomes a physical place.

Local economic effect

Global income becomes local development

International visitors need accommodation, food, transport and experiences. That demand makes it possible for local residents to start and grow businesses — from B&Bs and restaurants to guided hikes, cooking classes and local product brands. And it reaches further than the village: the project helps local producers package, market and ship what they make to customers around the world. Creanda creates customers for the community — it does not replace local businesses.

Italy–Sweden

The project starts with a bridge, not a blank page

Through an established coworking space and business network in Sweden, the pilot has direct access to its first company customers, mentors and entrepreneurial exchanges. The demand can be tested from day one.

Pilot project

A measurable first step

The pilot tests the model in practice: training programs, the first workations and retreats, and the first local ventures. Every result is measured — participants, training hours, bookings, overnight stays and new businesses.

Partners

Built together with the community

The municipality, local businesses, educational partners and international networks make the project possible. New partners are warmly welcome.
